Bec Judd hasn’t let the lack of trackside events for this year’s Melbourne races season stop her from stepping out in her race day finery.

The TV personality led the fashion pack on Melbourne Cup day in a plunging pink and orange dress, uploading photos of her outfit to Instagram on Wednesday morning.

The 37-year-old wore an off-the-shoulder mini dress by Cappellazzo Couture which featured puff sleeves and a stylish ruched bodice.

Bec accessorised the dress with a matching orange headband by Trove, a pink handbag by French designer Jacquemus and showstopping stilettos by Melbourne stylist turned shoe designer, Lana Wilkinson.

The 3pm Pick Up host paired her outfit with a personalised face mask in black, but joked on her Instagram story — uploaded today, a day after the Cup — that she had “needed an orange mask”.

Bec celebrated Melbourne Cup at The Atlantic restaurant in Melbourne’s Southbank, writing on Instagram that it had been “in glorious sun overlooking the best city in the world”.

Bec’s Cup day look was praised by her followers on Instagram who labelled it “perfection” and her best event outfit yet.

“Stunning and gorgeous as always Bec,” one person wrote, while another added: “This dress is everything!”

It’s the first public appearance for Bec since Melbourne’s lockdown restrictions were eased to allow residents to socialise.

While supportive of measures to lockdown hot spot suburbs during the early days of Melbourne’s second wave, Bec was among several high profile residents critical of Victoria Premier Daniel Andrew’s extended stay-at-home measures.

Last month Bec was labelled “insensitive” after wearing a “Free Melbourne” T-shirt in a series of Instagram story posts.

The Postcards host wore the T-shirt, which costs $40 and supports Beyond Blue, in videos of her doing her hair and makeup routine.

Screenshots of the clips and Judd’s hashtag #FreeMelbourne were shared to Twitter where she was mocked for the anti-lockdown stance.

People labelled Judd’s posts “embarrassing” given her lockdown circumstances had been far more favourable than others in Melbourne.

The businesswoman lives in a $7.3 million mansion in Brighton with her husband, former AFL player Chris Judd, and their four children.

But not everyone agreed with the harsh criticism of Judd, arguing that she had a right to her opinion and was a Melbourne business owner herself.
