Warren McGlone (born September 17 1969 located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), popularly known as his stage name Steady B is an American hip hop emcee together with Schoolly D and the Fresh Prince as well as Three Times Dope, was one of the initial wave of Philadelphia-based emcees who began that gained fame in the late 1980s. Steady B was an active part (and de facto the leader) the Philadelphia’s Hilltop Hustlers crew. Steady B’s music career was short-lived. the singer is currently being held for life in the state prison of Pennsylvania jail for his part as a suspect in the killing of Philadelphia Police officer Lauretha Vaird in a botched bank robbery in the month of January, 1996.
On the 30th of October in the year 1996 Steady had been found guilty for the second degree murder of Officer Vaird. On the 13th of December in 1996, Steady B received life prison with no possibility of parole.
Since 1991 Steady B formed the hip-hop group C.E.B. together alongside fellow local Philadelphia rappers Cool C as well as Ultimate Eaze, in an effort to change his style and to record sales. C.E.B. The name of the group was a backronym for the bank Countin’ Endless Bank however it was also an abbreviation for names used by the three members. The trio released their debut album, called Countin’ Bank in 1992, which was released through Ruffhouse Records in 1992. The track “Get the Point” reached 5th on the Billboard charts of Hot Rap Singles. The album received a poor reception.

On January 2, 1996, Steady B, along with C.E.B. bandmate Cool C, and another local Philadelphia rapper, Mark Canty, attempted a bank robbery at a PNC bank branch in Feltonville. During the botched heist, in which Steady B served as the getaway driver in a stolen minivan, Philadelphia Police Officer Lauretha Vaird, who responded to the bank’s silent alarm, was shot and killed by Cool C. Vaird, an African American woman and the single mother of two children, was the first female Philadelphia Police officer slain in the line of duty. The incident inspired the song “Slipped Away (The Ballad of Lauretha Vaird),” which appeared on Philadelphia trio G. Love and Special Sauce’s album Yeah, It’s That Easy.
