UFC welterweight Kevin Holland caught thief, choked out gunman and pulled driver from car wreck to e

UFC welterweight Kevin Holland is the closest thing MMA has to a hero after repeatedly stopping crime and helping the needy in Texas.

‘Trailblazer’ is known by most for causing the UFC 279 pre-fight press conference to be cancelled as he scrapped backstage with Khamazat Chimaev before they fought two days later.

However, Holland is actually one of the good guys and has proved that on several occasions in the past by apprehending a car thief, taking down a gunman, and pulling someone from a car wreck.

The 30-year-old’s first act of heroism came in October 2021 when he witnessed someone stealing a car and sprung into action.

Holland began chasing down the alleged car thief who crashed twice before he was caught and detained by the American fighter until police officers arrived.

The incident was documented by his coach Shug Dorsey on social media and quickly went viral before Holland made light of what had happened by posting: "Gotta go grab a [doughnut] right quick."

In March, Holland made headlines once again, this time for subduing a gunman who burst into a Houston restaurant called Ra Sushi and fired a shot.

While most people ducked for cover, the 23-8 fighter and two others swarmed the shooter and Holland put him to sleep with a rear-naked choke to stop him from firing another round.

"I wouldn't tell the next person to do it unless they're seriously trained for that type of situation," Holland told ESPN about his latest heroic act.

"Besides doing cage fighting, I train self-defence first and foremost. For me, that was the best way to defend myself at the moment. Plus, I like Batman."

Two months after admitting he ‘would like to end up in less situations’ following his second heroic moment, Holland was forced into action again after seeing an 18-wheeler truck flip onto its side.

As he ran over and pulled the driver out of the wreck, Holland admits he was scared and it was made worse by the fact the man he saved kept trying to go back for his belongings.

“I’m scared. Every other time things have happened, I’ve been calm, cool and collected. This time, I’m scared,” he said during an interview with MMA Fighting.

“I’m like, the truck’s going to blow up. The guy gets back in his truck. He’s like, ‘I need my phone.’ I’m like, ‘Bro, I got a second phone in the car, you don’t need your phone. We’ve got to go.’ He’s like, ‘I’ve got to go get my s***.’”

Luckily, things worked out fine for Holland who recently revealed he will no longer be working as a superhero in one particular Michigan city after being arrested for unpaid traffic tickets.

"I'm [at the police station] for like three, four hours,” he told TMZ Sports.

"I missed the flight. I was picking someone up from the airport. So, they got a Uber to the house and I'm like, ‘Bro, I just literally stopped a shooting a week ago and y'all gonna book me for some tickets?’"

"I ain't doing nothing in Saginaw no more, man. I'll help everybody else anywhere else. If you in Saginaw, I ain't helping you."

Holland will headline UFC Orlando this Saturday when he takes welterweight contender Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson in a highly anticipated match-up at the Amway Center.
